Region modification tools

The Eraser tool is used to remove segments of region boundary lines. Simply draw over the parts of the line that you want to erase. To erase more than one line segment at once, hold down the Alt key, and drag out a bounding box.

The Pencil tool repairs gaps in a boundary by joining the two ends of the existing boundary.

The Gap Fix tool fixes gaps between region boundary lines. If two regions that should be separate are treated as one, this means there is a gap between them. To save you from having to zoom in, find the gap, and fix it by hand, you can fix the gap simply by selecting the Gap Fix tool, and dragging from one region to the other.

You don't need to worry about finding the gap, or about dragging over the gap itself; the Gap Fix finds it for you. However, the Gap Fix tool only finds and fixes one gap at a time; so you may need to use the tool several times before all the gaps are fixed, and the regions are separate.

You can also use the Gap Fix tool to find the gap without fixing it. Simply hold down the Alt key while you drag between the two regions; you will see a colored line, which crosses the region boundary through the gap.
